Multi-angle light scattering (MALS) detection combined with size exclusion chromatography is a powerful technique for the characterization of polymers and biomolecules. MALS detection allows absolute determination of molecular weight and size distribution of biopolymers, such as proteins, and is increasingly used in the biopharmaceutical industry. This presentation will introduce Agilent’s 1260 Infinity II Multi-Angle Light Scattering Detector and features of WinGPC control software. Applications explored include analysis of synthetic polymers, proteins, and AAVs.
